Freedom...

Recently, I had the privilege to attend the showing of this film at PLU and hear one of the prisoners, now free, tell her story. I was so moved by what I heard, that I felt compelled to write to one of the women still behind bars for what, for her, was a desperate act of survival.  I do understand survival, but that's another story.

Today, I received an unexpected reply from that woman...

I cannot adequately express the emotions I felt as I realized who had written to me - compassion, sadness, some sort of connection. Somehow, she has blessed me with her sweet words.  May the Holy One bless her as she waits out her days, praying for release (here she is).  Only HaShem knows our hearts and motives.
