Challenge #1

Okay, I give in!

I'm joining my friends who are taking on a weekly challenge to delve into myself with photography and insight... so, let's get started with week 1.

A Photo of me (taken by Liz this time) and 15 facts about myself:



1. My faith is absolutely essential to me - it is such a part of me that it affects every aspect of my life.

2. I tend to balk at change. There's been so much in my life of late that maybe I'm getting better at handling it... dang, I actually thought I could get away with saying that, but there's a voice in my head telling me it ain't so.

3. I love Star Wars and take great pleasure in costuming as a Jedi - my best friend and I 'troop' events that raise money for charities.

4. I like to letterbox (that's sorta what's happening in the picture... ). Don't know what that is? Check here.

5. I have traveled more the last five years than I did the previous 40+ years - just chompin' at the bit for the next opportunity. Hmm... maybe just a beach day (weather permitting).

6. I love to play with my camera. I have taken an abundance of bad shots in my life but am learning to do it with style the last couple of years.

7. I enjoy deep pithy quotes that fit all those wonderful and not-so-wonderful things that happen in life.

8. I have a great 16 year old son who keeps me on my toes with his Asperger's Syndrome.

9. I spent over 20 years teaching elementary school but now enjoy the privilege of home-schooling my son. I have to say I felt especially old when I met a former student and her two kids at the grocery store...

10. When I travel with my best friend, I act as navigator - I now have an awesome tomtom with the voice of Darth Vader to help me in my task.

11. I love to read things that make me think more deeply on the issues of life and faith - you know, things that challenge me to a deeper walk with my G-d and that help me in those all-so-important relationships that I value so much.

12. I am not much of a leader, but function best as background support... lightsaber ready for action.

13. I like to drive which is good as I spend a great deal of my time doing just that - we live much too far from civilization for my liking, you know.

14. I want to travel to Israel soon, like yesterday. My land, my people.

15. When I was little, I loved the Lone Ranger and anything to do with cowboys. I remember a certain pair of cowboy boots given to me by my oldest sister. Oh, how I loved those boots - my mom knew that when she took them away for a week after kicking my sister...
