A character I didn't like in the series
I had to think about this one - I thought first of Palpatine. After all, he is the consummate bad guy, epitomizing all evil as he so thoroughly plots to destroy all that is good and just in the galaxy. No, I really don't like him.
What about Mas Amedda, though? He stands there looking evil in the background, doing whatever his master commands, helping to thwart justice without so much as a blink.
Then, what about this conversation? I mean, c'mon! He takes such obvious advantage of poor JarJar - yes, I know many of you really don't like him. He's just an innocent pawn trying to do the right thing, but Mas Amedda takes pleasure in being evil just like his master.
Mas Amedda: This is a crisis. The Senate must vote to give the chancellor emergency powers. He can then approve the creation of an army without a vote.
Palpatine: But what senator would have the courage to propose such a radical amendment?
Mas Amedda: If only Senator Amidala where here.
And that last line - how irritating! Oh, well, I know we need those bad guys to show the contrast of those awesome Jedi, keepers of peace and justice, you know.
